Q&A: What do you do with your photographic memories?
Question by Lukas Wolfe: What do you do with your photographic memories?
Do you use digital and email a pictures to friends and loved ones? do you still have your photos professionally printed? Do you still use analog or black and white? What do you do with your photographic memories?
Best answer:
Answer by Death™
Depends on the image.
I primarily use digital, though I’ve still got a few film cameras. I have some professionally printed and I print some myself — depends on what I want the prints for. Most of my photos are simply stored on my computer, but a few end up printed for various purposes. I occasionally use some black and white photos.

Searching for Friends, Lost Brothers… a search for the last living memories, the recollections and the imprint they left behind.

Los Angeles,CA (PRWEB) March 25, 2012
Three hundred journalists died covering the Viet Nam era wars legends – like Robert Capa, Larry Burrows, Everett Dixie Reese, Sean Flynn (son of Errol Flynn), Dana Stone, Dickey Chapelle, Charles Richard Eggelston, Henri Huet, Gilles Caron, Taizo Ichinose and many more. Of the 135 photojournalists lost, 14 in Cambodia are unaccounted for and its been Tims mission to determine the fate, the truth of what happened to his lost brothers.
Tim Page along with Horst Faas created Requiem a portfolio of work by combat photographers who died in Vietnam and Indochina. It is the origin of LOST BROTHERS and the Indochina Media Memorial Foundation erected for all the media that were killed or went missing. Requiem is the definitive memorial for those who lived through Viet Nam.
The genesis of the book was photojournalist Tim Pages quest to discover the fate of his friends Sean Flynn (actor Errol Flynns son) and Dana Stone, who were both reportedly captured and executed by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia in 1970. Their disappearance is legend, a great mystery of combat journalism. Many have searched, and their fate is unclear. There have been fabulous claims and unsubstantiated evidence which various groups and individuals have put forth over the years.
The precise details of their deaths will probably never be known, Tim Page is seeking a resolution whether it be stories or physical evidence a bone fragment, a camera, a passport it is a mystery begging to be resolved. For Tim Page, Resolving this resolves my own issues in my head of the unexplainable of war and of death. Searching for answers decades later is a subject usually relegated to the category of legend and myth–like the search for the Holy Grail or the quest for the Fountain of Youth. Many people would not take such a topic seriously.
Tim Page made a promise; no one was to be left behind. Hes held that promise for 41 years. Some might label Page as foolish; hes held this quest since 1970.
Director, Ralph Hemecker says, “So what? you may ask. All that was a long time ago. It’s long since receded from the proverbial rear-view mirror. Ancient history. Water under the bridge. Why bother? Sure you could frame it all up like that On the other hand, you could frame this story in an entirely different way.
What this project, this documentary, and Tim Pages never ending quest are really about is profound friendship. Brotherhood. In the digital age when you can friend someone with the touch of a button, when people have scores if not hundreds of friends, how many have a friend like this? A friend that cannot, will not give up on a promise he made over 40 years ago. A friend who despite impossible odds would continue to seek the answers to the mystery of your disappearance on a spooky road in a faraway land?
Yet while Tim continues striving, while we document his perhaps Quixote-esque quest to resolve the fates of his lost brothers – and the additional investigation his original quest has sparked – what we are really documenting is the crazy, unbreakable nature of true friendship. Friend Tim Page.
The LOST BROTHERS documentary endeavors to determine the fate of these missing journalists, who disappeared in pursuit of the truth. This project is now possible because of the internet, the ability to share information instantly, research, reach out to the community, friend and develop resources.
The producers of LOST BROTHERS are seeking to reach the goal of $ 50,000 by Saturday, March 31, 2012, which will allow them to kickstart the film and Tim Pages search. Kickstarter works only if they raise the full amount by the deadline. Theyve reached 89% of their fundraising goal, less than 7 days to the deadline, and its all or nothing. Your support is critical whether it is $ 1000, $ 100, $ 10, $ 1 or whatever you can afford; every single dollar makes a difference.
These funds will allow a small dedicated and determined crew to travel with Tim to Cambodia, and document his search and uncover the truth.
Help get Tim back to Cambodia. The fate of the missing is out there.

New photographic portrait series. Memories are not physical, and that forces us to retain them in objects as a fetichist way of remembrance.
Series shot through a painted glass: the cold veil in between reality and our memories. We are in the other side, with the item that makes us remember the another side.
I asked every participant in the series before the shots to think about any memory they may had: good, bad, happy, strange… and to come to the session with an object they were saving from that situation. Then I choose my colour palette, paint the glas, and photograph them through the other side.
I’d love to make a really BIG series out of this, to collect a lot of memories from many people and create a giant mosaic with these pics.

George Thompson Diamond Store Proves That Not all Memories are Always Lost
George Thompson Diamond Store Proves That Not all Memories are Always Lost
Camarillo, CA (PRWEB) December 29, 2011
Memories are a very powerful thing, but unfortunately quite often all we have left of someone is their memories, as belongings that remind us of them either get lost or given to other relatives, but when you look on the website of George Thompson Diamond Company, found at http://www.georgethompson.com, you can find one inspirational story that proves that not all memories are always lost forever.
The George Thompson Diamond Company was approached by a man named Tom Sanchez about creating an engagement ring – but not just any ring, one that was exactly like his fiancé’s grandmother’s ring. Armed with only a photo of the ring, many jewelers would have backed away from the project quickly. The experts at this jewelry store, however, knew that they could fuse new technology with old jewelry techniques in order to create a beautiful replica of the ring.
The process began when the photo was sent to an employee of the company who resided in Bangkok and who specializes in computer design. Utilizing graphics programs, he managed to recreate the ring in a drawing that was then approved by Mr. Sanchez in California. Once the approval process was complete employees then focused on finding the right diamonds for the ring and then casting and engineering the ring itself.
“It’s always a pleasure to be able to pair our clients with the perfect piece of jewelry, but this ring was very special to many of us. The fact that it is an exact replica of a beloved grandmother’s ring, and that we were able to complete it by spanning the globe, shows that jewelry making is truly headed in a new direction, but that pleasing the client will always come first.” Said owner George Thompson.
Once the ring was created Mr. Sanchez proposed to his girlfriend, who happily accepted the proposal and who was thrilled with the unique and very sentimental engagement ring.
For more information on how the company can help you to create your unique piece of jewelry, please contact the George Thompson Diamond Company via phone at (805) 388-5750, and you can learn more about the company on their website, found at: http://www.georgethompson.com
