You cant make yourself have a photographic memory, its something you’re born with.
Look at something for 5 seconds….
Look away quickly and return to focus on subject, blink 3 times…
And bingo…photographic memory.
Careful with what all you take pics of practicing as your internal memory will fill up fast.
Let your friend or someone draw a few items on a poster. Then he/she will show it to you for only 10 seconds and then try to draw them in the correct places on your paper. See how many you can get correct then keep adding a few each time.
It’s not something you can really train yourself to have. I slightly have one, but it’s not advanced at all. Everybody’s mind is different, and you’re kindof stuck with whatever you were born with.
I read a book a long time ago that gave you tricks on how to improve your memory. One way is association.
If, for example, you want to remember a series of objects…say 20 of them…associate each one with a letter of the alphabet (in order) in some fashion.
Just as a quick example, say you have a knife, a rock, a basketball, a lemon and a bottle of coke.
Do something like:
A = artery – you could slice open your artery with a “knife”
B = bonk – you could bonk someone of the head with a “rock”
C = celtics – your favorite “basketball” team
D = duck – you like to eat duck with “lemon” on it
E = enamel – the acid in “coke” eats the enamel off your teeth
After you associate the items with these in your mind, you should be able to run through the alphabet in order and remember the items by the association you’ve given them.
If you run out of letters, you can figure out something similar to associate with — colors, numbers, etc.
A “photographic memory” is not something a person “can obtain” simply by desiring to do so.
Each person’s mind functions in unique ways, but we all fit into one category of function or another.
Only a few people in this world have “photographic memory”
We are born with or without such an ability in the way we function.
Boy oh boy, yours is a hard one to answer. I would start by going to your local library and talking to the chief librarian to see if there are any books on the subject. I’ve seen it demonstrated where four people were shown a particular scene or picture and then asked to describe what they saw, like certain colors, how many of this and that, etc. The resulting answers were quite different. Ask any policeman who questions several “witnesses” and they (the police) go away shaking their heads. I understand that part of a policeman and detective’s training is just what you’re talking about when it comes to describing a person’s hair color, height, color of eyes, etc. But I also think that what you’re looking for is much more than that. I’m not sure you can just “obtain” a photographic memory. I do know, however, there are ways of IMPROVING your memory.
